The short version of the story? Small team makes N64 game, then a series of PS2 games, then a series of PS3 games, then ships a launch PS4 game. Along the way we’ve created a small-ish studio and approach to making successful AAA games that sit alongside product made by teams 8x our size. We were founded in 1997 and talked our way into the business.  Lost a bunch of our own money on Rocket, but that game was the calling card that got us our next deal.  We signed our next six major projects with Sony Computer Entertainment America and developed a long-term productive relationship with that team in Foster City.  In 2011 we were acquired by Sony, and we’re pretty much the counter example to the typical horror stories about turbulent and destructive relationships with publishers and producers.  If you want that sort of drama, look somewhere else.  We currently develop games exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and we concentrate on a single IP at a time.  Single platform + single IP gives us the ability to really focus, and to produce quality games of the highest level.

Fun fact – every game we’ve ever made with Sony, including our smaller/downloadable titles, have been profitable and paid profit sharing to our employees.


Our studio is located in downtown Bellevue, just across Lake Washington from Seattle.  If you want to make games, it’s a great place to live -- our neighbors and friends include the teams behind Destiny (Bungie), DoTA (Valve), Shadows of Mordor (Monolith), Guild Wars (Arena.Net), State of Decay (Undead Labs).
